What a show! That’s what the haute couture presentations this year were like, given the circumstances. All too fitting that the presentation in short film format was also inspired by screen legends and Hollywood starlets in terms of make-up.

And action! In the case of the London couture label Ralph &amp; Russo, it starts behind the scenes, and in addition to insights into the inspiration and creation of the collection, there is also the rare pleasure of watching make-up artist Naoko Sofia Scintu flicker across the screen, even if only for seconds. 
In addition to the animated lookbook, in which model avatar Hauli poses in a programmed pose, a selection of the looks was also photographed in nature, and in return, you can see the petite Italian with Japanese roots skilfully applying silver eye shadow, &nbsp;while hair legend Larry King gazes at the overall work of art. The final look is just as surreal as the situation itself: Sci-fi meets romance. Cineasts will probably first think of associations with the 1970s classic series &ldquo;Ufo&rdquo;. In contrast to Gabrielle Drake, the main actress, in this case, wears the silver eye shadow with a similar curvature, but without the exaggeratedly applied mascara. In the case of Ralph &amp; Russo, the lashes are only lightly mascaraed, the eyebrows slightly optimized, and the whole thing is combined to create a light foundation...&nbsp;

Sounds promising: The “ Climax Extreme Mascara” from Nars is supposed to provide even fuller lash volume. 

Highlight: The liquid eye shadow “Eye Tint Liquid” by Armani Beauty, here in the colour “Blue Reflection”, promises high coverage and long hold.

Silver lining: This eyeliner with gel texture comes from Marc Jacobs. Fittingly christened “Highliner”, the wonder weapon is available in a wide range of metallic nuances.

Perfect Match: The basis for every successful look is the right foundation. The “Self-Refreshing Foundation” from Shiseido is available in 16 shades.

Modern Diva

The light version of a classic can also be observed in Alexis Mabille&rsquo;s work. The dramatically curved eyeliner is brought into the limelight. I wonder if Llyod Simmonds had Sophia Loren in mind, in her role in the monumental film &ldquo;The Fall of the Roman Empire&rdquo;? In&nbsp;his Instagram feed, at any rate, there is a backstage image of the&nbsp;shooting that the make-up artist posted on the occasion of the 86th birthday of the film diva.&nbsp;Designer Mabille&rsquo;s comment on this? Simply: &ldquo;#goddess!&rdquo; So, one pays&nbsp;homage to her look with a similar eye make-up but does not take over the&nbsp;luxuriously tousled hair and leaves it with a natural complexion and only discreetly made-up eyelashes. Especially with such sweeping robes this gives a&nbsp;modern touch.

Inspired by the brand’s cult dinner jackets, Yves Saint Laurent has also opted for deep black for its new mascara “Volume Effet Faux Cils Radical”.

Lines: Make-up artist Charlotte Tilbury has developed the eyeliner “Feline Flick” especially for her signature look of the same name. The vision of Alexis Mabille presented here is an even more dramatic interpretation of this.

A touch of colour: Shiseido’s “ColorGel Lip Balm” moisturises and is available, for example, in the gently shiny shade “Narcissus (Sheer Apricot)”.

A matt finish: This is best achieved with the velvety compact powder “Phyto-Poudre” from Sisley.

In some cases, however, it&nbsp;can be a little more, and you can confidently leave it to Chanel&nbsp;to skilfully combine the craziest contrasts. Punk rock meets princess? No problem, designer Virginie Viard, who says she was inspired more by Karl Lagerfeld&nbsp;than Coco Chanel for the collection, also manages this balancing act in a playful way. As usual, it is up to Lucia Pica, the company&rsquo;s global creative make-up and colour designer, to reflect this&nbsp;sophistication and complexity with the right look. This is achieved by using eyeliner on the upper and lower&nbsp;eyelids, which completes Smokey Eyes. Subtle highlighter on the cheekbones underlines the structure, and the&nbsp;deep red lipstick &ldquo;Rouge Coco&rdquo; lives up to its name in the &ldquo;Attraction&rdquo; shade.

 Guarantees a radiant and natural look: the compact powder from the “Les Beiges” series by Chanel.

Everything turned red! Although Chanel showed elaborately manicured nails with silver applications, the classic “Rouge Louboutin” by Christian Louboutin would also be a suitable addition. 

“Showstopper” - the name says it all for the iridescent lipstick from Bobbi Brown.

Strictly speaking: Thanks to its flexible felt tip, the eyeliner pen “Mad Eyes” by Guerlain makes for particularly precise application. 

Time For Romance

What is still missing on the list of genres is that of love films, but this can be remedied. Those who yearn&nbsp;for a feminine, romantic look will&nbsp;find plenty of inspiration in Ulyana Sergeenko. Inspired by the 1940s, it&nbsp;is not only the collection itself that&nbsp;is inspired, but also the water waves that the two hair stylists Marina Roy and Nick&nbsp;Sushkevich have given the models. Make-up artist Alena Moiseeva conjures up the right make-up to go with&nbsp;them and focuses on a perfect complexion and discreet nude tones with a touch of apricot. A bit retro, yet&nbsp;timelessly beautiful looks that are easy to imitate. By the way, this applies to all creations, whether for everyday&nbsp;use or for a grand entrance - if this is not a happy ending!

 Soft tones: A palette of the most beautiful nude and brown nuances with partly soft metallic tones is available with “Golden Slipper” by Bobbi Brown.

Softly kissed awake - the lips are given a kiss with “Extra Lip Tint”, also from Bobbi Brown, which provides plenty of moisture and a touch of colour.

Care and foundation at the same time, that is what “Neo Nude” by Giorgio Armani provides with “True Tone” pigments on a feather-light water base.

Also in terms of colour you can go for it naturally and instead of black you can use mascara in brown tones. This season, the matching new product comes in the form of “Perfect Volume” from La Biosthétique in the shade “Coffee Brown”.
