Do you remember "The Rose" with Bette Midler as Janis Joplin? Or "The Doors" with Val Kilmer as Jim Morrison? To "Ray" with Jamie Foxx as Ray Charles or to "8 Mile" with Eminem? It is said that "Straight Outta Compton", the big surprise hit by the hip-hop crew NWA of 2015, is responsible for the revival of the music film in recent years. More biographical and realistic than the musical, he returns this fall with two programmed hits. Always with the music!

First of all, Bradley Cooper reinterprets the movie "A Star Is Born," whose predecessor is a classic in music: the descent of one star enables the rise of another - a great story of love and rivalry.

There were three earlier versions: the original from 1937, which earned Janet Gaynor an Oscar nomination, then the 1954 film adaptation of George Cukor starring Judy Garland and James Mason, an absolute masterpiece; however, we have a flaw for the 1976 version, with the most pop, with Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson. That's fine, because it's the version that inspired Bradley Cooper the most. He even shot a scene at the Coachella Festival before shooting began. Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga have a love affair in "A Star Is Born" from 2018 and sing in front of a country background: It's his first steps as a director and he's totally inspired. It is her big movie debut and she is absolutely fantastic. We have goose bumps!

Queen, the band that gave her nickname to Lady Gaga (at least because of her song "Radio Ga Ga"), is the subject of the second music film of the season: "Bohemian Rhapsody" with Rami Malek (from the series "Mr. Robot"), which plays the legendary Freddie Mercury and makes a splash in this role. The shoot was complicated, director Bryan Singer had to be replaced in the meantime by Dexter Fletcher, but then took over the line again. Fletcher plans to shoot "Rocketman" next, a film about Elton John's life - another musician bio. By the way, there is also "American Idiot" in the pipeline with Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day.

"A Star Is Born" by and with Bradley Cooper, Lady Gaga and Dave Chappelle: theatrical release on October 3. "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Bryan Singer, with Rami Malek and Ben Hardy: theatrical release on October 31st.
