<p style="text-align: justify;">The hit series<strong> "The Witcher" has already gone down in history as a ratings hit</strong>. <strong>Now series makers have developed a story set 1,200 years earlier and featuring Hollywood stars such as Minnie Driver and Michelle Yeoh: "The Witcher: Blood Origin".</strong> Also in the game is Sophia Brown. The British actress has been known for her roles for years and is now also known to a global audience of millions.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">It's Sophia Brown's year at all right now, as she stars in Sky's "Borderland", a thriller set in 1970s London and set for release in the summer of 2023. Brown's other films include Disney's "Beauty and the Beast" starring Emma Watson and "Disobedience" with Rachel McAdams.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">L'Officiel Austria caught up with Sophia Brown and chatted about her best moments in the series.</p>
<h4 style="text-align: justify;">How did you react when you found out that you were going to be part of the cast of the Netflix series "The Witcher - Blood Origin"? Did you dance in the kitchen or call your best friend?</h4>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Sophia Brown: "I was driving home when I got the call so I'm surprised I didn't crash the car. I called my partner, my sister, then my Mum and Dad. When I got home I played the song I sang for the audition 'The Parting Glass' on my speaker and screamed it out so loud."</p>

<h4 style="text-align: justify;">What do you like most about the script?</h4>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Sophia Brown: "The powerful defiant women."</p>
<h4 style="text-align: justify;">In the show you play &Eacute;ile, an elite guard who is also a talented musician. How did you prepare for this role?</h4>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Sophia Brown: "A lot of text work, building the world and the characters with Vicky Jewson and Sarah O'Gorman the directors. Alongside a lot of fight training and Music lessons to familiarise myself with the Nickelharpa." [musical instrument, note]</p>
<h4 style="text-align: justify;">&Eacute;ile has many different talents and skills such as horse riding, playing her instrument or fighting. Which one was a real challenge that you had to overcome?</h4>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Sophia Brown: "Each of them had their moments but let's just say myself and the Icelandic Ponies didn't gel naturally." [Icelandic ponies are known for their stubborn nature, ed.]</p>

<h4 style="text-align: justify;">You play alongside great actors like Minnie Driver or Michelle Yeoh - what was the atmosphere on set like?</h4>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Sophia Brown: "Michelle is so kind hearted and it was so motivating getting to work with her every day. Unfortunately I never got to do a scene with Minnie but I remember hearing she was on the make-up truck - I sprinted over to embarrass myself and profess my love for her and her work. She chatted with me for some time and gave me some great advice about navigating the industry."</p>
<h4 style="text-align: justify;">Is there anything you took away from the shoot to keep as a souvenir? Of course, we won't tell!</h4>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Sophia Brown: What didn't I take? The most obvious of course - my blades - the practice ones that were made out of a hard rubber though. The armourer wouldn't let me keep the real deal."</p>

<h4 style="text-align: justify;">Before you were cast for the show, you had already worked as an actress for a long time. What advice do you have for young actors who are working on their breakthrough? Do you have any advice for young actors?</h4>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Sophia Brown: "Andre De Shields won his first Tony award in 2019 at 73 and his speech really stuck with me. I wish I heard it earlier on in my career: "The top of one mountain is the bottom of the next, keep climbing. Slowly is the fastest way to get to where you want to be'."</p>
