In her 20s, Shkurta, a fashion designer from Kosovo, founded her clothing brand, presenting bold designs highlighting each body type's merits. From being a hired employee up to starting her atelier, Shkurta shares her journey in the fashion world in our interview.

Shkurta, tell us about your greatest strength as a professional.

Shkurta:&nbsp;I always pay attention to body shaping because all bodies are beautiful; therefore, every woman needs to feel comfortable and, at the same time, look beautiful. The pattern is my greatest strength as a professional, where I can freely manipulate shapes and still narrow the waist, which makes the dress look even more attractive for all body sizes.&nbsp;

Why did you decide to be a fashion designer on your own?

Shkurta:&nbsp;I started this journey as a worker, working 8-4 for some well-known designers in my country. Every day my skills were underestimated until I told myself wait, I can strike this out on my own, so I decided to start this by opening my atelier in my bedroom and from there, my first collection was entirely created.&nbsp;

Where do you look for creative inspiration?

Shkurta:&nbsp;A cup of coffee in the morning and staying beside my family are all it takes to inspire me. Also, listening to great music while working is head therapy.

Who was a mentor to you?

Shkurta:&nbsp;Kosovo is a country where fashion design flourished; LS brand is the first place I initially worked for; I started there as a practical worker, so I consumed her unique style. The founder of that brand has always been a mentor to me.

Tell us more about the beginning of your career.

Shkurta:&nbsp;In the second year of uni, I designed a little fur coat collection, and I wore it throughout the winter; everyone would stop me whenever I wore a piece. Where is that from? Where did you get it? So, after all that positive feedback, I said this is something I want to explore.

What was your greatest challenge working on your collection?

Shkurta: I didn&#39;t have time for more than a week for the collection I showed on Prishtina fashion night, so that was also my greatest challenge; that was part of my graduation collection.

Is there anything you wish you could tell your younger self?

Shkurta:&nbsp;I&#39;m only 20 years old now, and fashion has always been a passion of mine, but it&#39;s like that passion and dedication that pushes you to work even more complex and learn even more every time.

Is it hard to stay innovative?

Shkurta:&nbsp;Innovation for me as a workaholic is nerve-wracking; I always find a way to stay innovative; I check every detail in my atelier because the priority is for the client to be happy and feel like a queen on my creations. I&#39;m always in touch with my clients all around the world. That&#39;s why sleeping 5 hours straight is a luxury for me.

Tell us about your new collection.

Shkurta:&nbsp;The collection I am working on for now will be all embroidered with pearl and feather details with a unique design; I always share little pieces from the new collection on Instagram to see the audience&#39;s reaction. I&#39;m going to name this &#39;SHB&#39; because I&#39;m 100% me on this collection and can&#39;t wait to launch it.
