What to remember from the Fendi Couture show in Rome?
By Juliette Gour
The place
At the top of Palatine Hill, one of the seven hills of Rome, against the backdrop of the legendary Colosseum, Silvia Venturini Fendi pays a final tribute to Karl Lagerfeld. In the archives of the former master's sketch house, she selects a collection of 54 looks - referring to the number of years of collaboration between Fendi and Karl Lagerfeld.
The collection
On the silhouettes, many details refer to the architecture: mosaic coats, Roman friezes, printed spirit marble ... All in volumes and a character very "seventies", creating the cinematic look of a resolutely modern Roman woman .
The detail
The colors, mineral and soothing, evoke the new art: citrine, quartz, jade, chalcedony, marble ... Note also the scholarly cuts revealing the body of women; the work of the fur and the leather, antiquing, in assembly of materials; or the irreducible bag "Baguette" which comes in fur and mosaic versions.
