Vivienne Westwood Couture Bridal 2020

The wedding dress created by Vivienne Westwood for Sarah Jessica Parker as Carrie Bradshaw in Sex & the City is imprinted in the collective imagination. A decade later from the dress that everyone dreamed of, the British designer presents a new collection dedicated to the wedding: Couture Bridal. The protagonist is the rose, used in Great Britain as a cultural, artistic, literary and religious reference, a symbol of timeless heroic beauty, strength and love. The tribute to Westwood's Grand Roses archive print is inspired by classic English rose garden. The new interpretation of the graphic is developed on a light gray background, highlighting the pastel-colored flowers on corsets with eighteenth-century references to recreate modern silhouettes with structured drapes, while the multi-layered skirts allude to the petals in a lush English garden.

Vivienne Westwood Made-to-Order

With renewed interest in traditional English tailoring techniques, Vivienne Westwood, in addition to the Couture Bridal collection, adds new models to the Made-to-Order collection. The new dresses composed with delicate floral fabrics maintain the distinctive features of the Westwood Atelier: details in sequins, the shimmering golden lurex silk and the Grand Roses print. Each dress in the collection is made ad hoc directly on the bride's shapes, offering the possibility to customize for the choice of fabrics and changes on the silhouette. Madame Westwood maintains her coherence by continuing her journey in the eco-sustainable dimension. Among the fabrics used, viscose, a vegan alternative to silk and peace silk, a fabric with a fresh and sustainable hand.
