A few days before International Women's Day, beauty brand Helena Rubinstein hosted a LEADING LADIES SOIR&Eacute;E and career talk with ORF icon Danielle Spera, salonni&egrave;re and journalist Nicole Adler and tech start-up founder Victoria Dejaco.

The "weather forecast" should be right this time: A unique circle of women of different generations and different industries gathered on a Thursday before International Women's Day in a sophisticated Beletage at Schwarzenbergplatz. To be more precise, it was that of Salonni&egrave;re Nicole Adler.
The guests where invited to a special LEADING LADIES SOIR&Egrave;E by the beauty brand whose founder was a businesswoman in the modern sense of the word and who emigrated to the New World more than a century ago to build a global empire from New York: Helena Rubinstein.

The glass ceiling that was discussed at the - almost symbolic - glass table is still ever present generations later. However, in many ways in a different form. Because it is 60 percent of all female founders who suffer from the feeling of not being good enough for their job or only being successful out of "luck".

Danielle Spera also faced headwinds in her career as a successful journalist and ZiB presenter at ORF and former director of the Jewish Museum Vienna. Not only from male superiors who did not want to use her as a woman for foreign missions in war zones, but also later during developing new approaches for exhibtions at the <a href="https://www.jmw.at/">Jewish Museum Vienna</a>.

Spera concluded by giving the important impulse for the cocktail hour that followed: "What can women do better? Where we as women are still failing at the moment are networks. Men have these. Therefore, women should be much more in solidarity with each other," she noted. Solidarity would be lacking especially in personal life decisions; instead, women should support each other to succeed.
The subsequent afterhour ended a little later, as befitted the occasion. Even pioneers and innovators with a 5 am morning routine need to celebrate sometimes.
