"Karl For Ever"

On the 20 of June, the fashion world in Paris Grand Palais bid farewell to Karl Lagerfeld.

The brands Chanel , Fendi and Karl Lagerfeld have teamed up and organized a memorial service for the deceased on 19 February fashion designer. The happening was conceived and directed by the Canadian opera director Robert Carsen.
The many facets of Karl Lagerfeld were paid tribute to life with video sequences, oversized portraits adorned the walls and numerous live acts from music, dance and literature made the event an unforgettable experience. The actresses Tilda Swinton, Fanny Ardant and Cara Delevingne , all friends of Karl Lagerfeld, contributed text passages from his most popular authors such as Virginia Woolf, Stéphane Mallarmé, Colette and Edith Sitwell. In addition, the approximately 2,500 guests were entertained with a tango performance, an orchestra from Buenos Aires, a Chopin interpretation by the famous pianist Lang Lang and a concert by the American songwriter Pharrell Williams. Thus, a breathtaking event was created as a tribute to the 1933 born in Hamburg artists, fashion designers, photographers and costume designer Karl Lagerfeld - which we certainly never forget.
