"Velaa Private Island“-Resort: Luxury Haven in the Indian Ocean

From the private boat fleet, including a luxury yacht, up to the luxurious golf course - the Resort “Velaa private Island” sets new standards when it comes to luxury vacations.

The Maldives are rightly regarded as the most beautiful travel destination in the world. From the picturesque beaches to the colorful coral reefs – the natural scenery is indescribably beautiful and almost magical. It does not come as a surprise, that several luxury hotels have settled on the 26 atolls and over 1000 coral islands to compete for the exclusive clientele. "Velaa Private Island" definitely stands out from the crowd. The resort is rightly regarded as one of the frontrunners. Owner Jiri Smejc has created a top-class sanctuaryon the heavenly island in the Noonu Atoll, about 187 kilometers north of Malé. 

Around 43 villas and four private houses, built on land or directly above the water, are available to the illustrious mixture of high nobility, business magnates and celebrities - each of the luxurious accommodations is tasteful furnished and privacy and discretion go without saying. The same goes for the private butler for each of the villas, the extensive wellness offer and the kids club.


However, especially when it comes to leisure activities, the full the list of possibilities is endless: the sports program ranges from climbing walls to a fitness studio. Dives, sailing trips are of course also available, such as excursions with the jet ski or the in-house Weta Trimaran. Especially the golf course has to be mentioned in particular. According to the ideas of professional golfer José María Olazábal, ambitious players have nine different tees, six greens, seven bunkers including a picturesque lake as a backdrop for their game.


Gourmets will also get their money's worth: six restaurants and bars are on the island. The gourmet temple "Aragu", for example, or the more casual "Tavaru", which is devoted to the barbecue technique of the Teppanyaki. The hotel's own wine cellar is located here as well and contains more than 500 barrels, ranging from boutique wineries to the Grand Marques, offering everything a wine connoisseur could wish for. Among the treasures from all over the world is a 1956 Domaine de la Romanée-Conti "Romanée-Conti" or several salon champagnes. For all of those who have landed in this paradise, there should be enough reasons to celebrate with a glass of wine or two.
