Your resume is more than impressive. You are an executive producer, actress, brand ambassador and entrepreneur. Is there an area that you haven’t yet ventured in and would like to do so in the future?
The more I think about it, the more interested I am in industries that save lives. COVID-19 has shown us the importance of the medical industry, and that’s where I intend to invest my energy in the future.
What is your favourite place in your home country of Vietnam, and why?
Ho Chi Minh City where I am living now is definitely my favourite. Although it’s not my hometown, it’s the city that has witnessed a lot of up and down moments of my life and career. It’s the city of passion, motivation, ambition and youth in which I believe I will always have a chance to challenge as well as embrace myself.
What was your favourite movie role to date and why?
That was Dan in The White Silk Dress (Ao Lua Ha Dong). I transformed myself into a woman who suffered many hardships and great losses, which I had never experienced in my real life before. Until now, "that woman" somehow still haunts me. I believe that role has really left a great impression on the audiences, especially on myself.
Name a current fashion trend that you like, and one that you do not like.
I love oversized shoulderpad boyfriend jackets because of its high applicability. They can go well with so many kinds of outfit in various situations. I can easily feel myself whenever I put them on. I think they do their great job in expressing my personality: free, open, strong and cool. About the trend that I don’t like, I actually don’t think about it that way. It’s just the trend that doesn’t work well on me, so I barely choose it. In this case, bike shorts is my pick.
Do you still remember the first designer item you ever bought?
A very small Chanel pair of earrings! I remember it took me about 3-4 months to come to the final decision. At that time buying a designer item like that was a very expensive and risky shopping habit. When I owned that first pair, I was so excited and proud of myself for having worked so hard. I realised that I deserved it and it has encouraged me to work harder to be able to treat myself way better. I still keep it and wear it sometimes. In my opinion, investing in designer items is always a smart shopping decision as most of them are timeless.
