When his children were small, Ole constantly painted elephants for them until the first piece of jewellery was created: an elephant as a silver wedding present for his wife Karin. So it stands to reason that other projects are also under the sign of the pachyderms.
The Danish designer jewellery brand has now created its own charity collection, consisting of silver elephants and hippo key rings, together with the non-profit organisation Charity Water. The aim is to provide people living in developing countries with clean and safe water.
Why water? Because water is vital, but a scarce resource in several parts of the developing world. When a community gains access to clean water, almost anything can change - it is the key to reducing poverty in all its dimensions, improving human health, gender equality, education, economic development and animal welfare.
As a sign of solidarity, Ole Lynggaard supports Charity Water with 10 percent of the sales price, enabling clean water for two people per key ring.
And this is the result of the collaboration, which is now available from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen.
